In recent years The Whitby High School has taken part in two visits to the Western Front Battlefields of World War One. As well as being a rewarding visit, it also ties in with work being studied at GCSE and A Level. Accompanying staff have a good knowledge and expertise of the period and the sites themselves, so much so that they take on the role of guides for part of the visit.
