Rob Jones was born in Wrexham, Wales on 5th November 1971 and is a former pupil of our own school, Whitby High. He was signed by Liverpool after learning his trade under Dario Gradi at Crewe. After making a great impression as full back in the Premiership, Rob made his debut for England. He looked set for a long run in that position for both club and country, but injury sadly cut his career short.

Rob Jones comes from a history of football stars as his grandfather Bill also played for Liverpool and England in the 1950s.
